Imara African Opportunities Fund
The Imara African Opportunities Fund is a licensed offshore mutual fund, which was launched in 2005 to offer international investors the ability to invest primarily in the emerging stock markets of Africa, with limited exposure to the South African market.
The Imara African Opportunities Fund is an absolute return fund that invests in countries such as Kenya, Mauritius, Zambia, Nigeria, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Malawi, Morocco and South Africa. Whilst the Fund will occasionally take advantage of top-down fluctuations, it seeks primarily to invest in growth businesses, often monopolistic, that generate high returns on investment and strong cash flow for investors.
